[MUSIC] Welcome back to a new episode of a really new Ruffians, your favorite library podcast. Zach, don't make me show you.[MUSIC] No, we don't do that, right? That's right, because we're, we're a good library. We're the best library in Sanchez, too. Come on, say the thing. We said, I mean the pee.[LAUGHTER] Follow me to each other. So today we are going to be doing our first little condensed discussion of mort by Terry Pratchett before we get into that. I think we should like do a little bit of a different intro just this one time, because it's been requested that we bring back the fun ones, but I don't have one of those right now. Sure, prepared.[LAUGHTER] So we went and just like leave. And introduce ourselves and act like people don't know us. We can do that. Ow! Like it. Okay, let's see what we can do. Let's see what we can do. All right. Let's see what we can do. Let's see what we can do. Let's see what we can do. Hi. I'm Ariel. Mallory. Where's your high? And I'm Zach. Oh, why? What? It's bad. Now it's fine. Hi. How are you? Hi, I'm Zach. Nice to meet you. Okay. Yeah, our last one is 104 or so. Crazy. Technically, there's been more than that, because we've had at least two bonus upsets. Yeah. That's right. Okay, we do a life update. Yes. Nope. What? No. Zachary! Oh my gosh. I'm doing a life update first. Yeah. Wow.[LAUGHTER] I haven't gotten laid off yet. Which is amazing. That is amazing. Oh, what did I hear you were going to say? I was like, that isn't what style I was going to say. Not family friendly.[LAUGHTER] Oh my gosh. You haven't gotten laid off yet. Anyway, Ariel, get your mind out of the gutter. Yeah. So that's been the thing. So far, so good. Aside from that, works fine. You know, it's work. What you're going to do? Been reading a little bit more books recently. That's good. We had our book club thing, which I'll talk about in our next, like, I guess, book what we've been reading updates. Actually, no, I'll go ahead and say, I read Canary Row. It was pretty good. But it wasn't. Is this Timeback? John Steinbeck? Canary Row? Yeah. It's by John Steinbeck. It's an interesting little book. It's just a bunch of stuff about a little town. So you're the one that checked that out of my card? Yes. OK, I almost awaited it. I'm like, I don't think she's done that to me. You have to tell her when you get a book. Like, just assume that it's one of my books. I was like, but I forgot you did that. But I thought there's no way Ariel's reading this. No. I mean, that's fair. That's fair. That's fair. That's not what you would read. It's a good book, though. Aside from that. And the workup days is starting to get actually a little bit warm. So I've been taking out the paddleboard a little bit. That's been fun. Been paddleboardin' around Lake Union. That's nice. Starting to get warm. Yeah, starting to get warm. I mean, like today it's pretty toasty. It's going to be 80. That's really hot. It's 80. It's like 9 o'clock at night here. It's been in the 90s. It's been 15 years. Yeah. Yeah, starting to get warm, I mean, like today it's pretty toasty. It's been in the 90s. No, I got down to 60 last night. Yeah, we're still pretty chilly. Disgusting. Oh, and another thing. I'm just going to keep saying that. I finally used one of those weight belt things, you know, at the gym the other day. Those things are really work. Do a good job. Make you feel like an idiot. And I could barely get the thing off because it's so stiff. But, you know, you put that belt on and it's like your strunker. You know what I'm saying? Is that the thing, like when you do like deadlifts and stuff like that, that belt? Is that what you're talking about? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I was struggling with my lift and then I put the belt on. And it gives you something like to brace your abs against, right? So you like press it and it helps your form. Stay better and just makes it a little bit not easier really. But it helps you like control yourself better. It's really nice. Honestly. I can't say that I've ever used one. I like the first time I ever did it. The montages of people flicking them off. Yeah, I enjoy watching this. Yeah. The montages of people what flicking them off. Oh, undoing him. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. No, I get that. I can't do that. I try so hard. Maybe it's just the belt I'm using. I don't know. I'm like struggle bus and thinking I'm not going to be able to get the thing off. And it would be like forever living in this belt. Oh, my God. That's hilarious. Anyway, that's my life updates. Who's next? I have been getting ready for seat or legs. For like the last month. So I am. What do you see her legs? I was selling the jewelry and the pevel art and stuff like that. The same thing she does every. You got to say this stuff. The same thing we do ever you. The listeners don't know. I take over the world. The listeners don't know. Yeah. I'm making my jewelry and my pevel art for the arts and crafts fair. And. It's been. I was not at all ready this year. It's like one of the years that you have put everything else. Because you had plenty of stuff and plenty of stuff. And then all of a sudden you have nothing. Yeah. Well, this was the nothing year. And it's been. A month to six weeks of constant. Making stuff. Oh, yeah. I am so tired. Yeah. So Carla has a like jewelry shop. And it's called what Carla. Magpie. Yeah. Magpie creation. Yeah. There's lots of magpies out there. She makes beautiful jewelry. Just so you got it out. She does. Yeah, but they're rocks. They are rocks. Pretty rocks. They're pretty. They are pretty rocks. Yes. I was helping her price them the other night. Yeah. And I was like, you should price this one at 70. Yeah. She wouldn't. Yeah. I mean. Say. Wait. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's probably why I don't have anything. That's probably what. Pretty. Let's see. I got my nose pierced on both sides. So that's new. I just finished two classes and for my summer semester and I started my third one today actually got real big mad about it because I got to be in one of them when I should have got a that's rude, but you know, the teacher will hear about it when I emailed him or when they watch me. Because I had to take a test and they had to watch me and I said lots of mean things. So that should be fun for them. There was lots of custodians involved. Let's see what other updates do I got? Not much. I had four teeth cut out of my face. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I didn't get to keep them though. They let me keep Anton's one Anton got his teeth cut out. We should let you keep yours. So I just don't let you do it anymore. I've asked for mine a couple of times. Two fairy business, but for Anton's, but maybe I'm one in mine. I'm just saying like, that's my teeth. I want the two fairy to visit me. Like I'm poor. Give me money. Yes, but the tooth fairy came when I was a kid. See, the only other life update really, I think, is I have convinced someone new to start reading Dungeon Crowler Carl and the dress and files and Piranesey. And I also put size on the list that he has to read. That was actually good. That was good. He agreed with me that Piranesey is a waste of time. And he loves Dungeon Crowler. So yeah, as it should be. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, whatever. But yeah, I don't think I'm working to go to school. That's about my life right now. Yeah, nothing exciting. I guess that's my turn, isn't it? Your turn. A life update. I got my ears pierced like for it. I guess we technically are calling them second holes, but they kind of look like they could be first holes. This is whole saga with my ears. It's 1.5. 1.5 holes. Yeah, 1.5 holes. And last night cleaning it lost one of the balls down the drain. So I'm like freaking out about it. But it'll be fine. Oh, I was cleaning my nose rings last night when we were here. Yeah, I was like cleaning your nose rings with an alcohol wipe. We'll sure clear out your sentence. I think you're supposed to let it drive before you put it back in. No, no. Yeah, I'm not. All the way because it's a new piercing you have to do. I've just been doing this sailing rinse. Well, I didn't have any Wednesday. So I was like, well, just it's fun. I'm scared of doing alcohol on my ears. No, yeah, it only stings for a little bit. Just for me. I'm a baby. And also, I don't want to ruin these. My other one's got ruined to that. Yeah, it was a whole man might your might your saga is insane. But anyway, yeah. So Ariel and I went to get the piercings together because we were twinsies. There was a deal. Yeah. Well, for you, yeah, it was a hell of a deal. I missed her. Yeah, I missed her deal for like actual ear piercings. So I had to pay normal prices. But it was fine because worth it. It was kind of weird. I've never had my ears pierced by an actual deal before. Yeah, use the needle. Oh, like, yeah, yeah. Oh my gosh. Yeah. I am. Apparently, everybody says it's like better. I don't know. It is way better. I remember having my ears pierced both times with guns at clairs. And it was awful. I'll tell you something about clairs. They crush. They don't train people to put your ears. And I know that because of one. This is a long time ago, but one Christmas, they needed help in my sister work there. Yeah. So I hired one friend. I like three or four weeks during Christmas. Yeah. Some like it. And somebody came in to have their ears pierced. It was just her. And she said, come on, you're going to help me with this. Look, what do you think? I've been there like three days. Oh, it's easy. It's easy. I mean, I guess now they know that like the the guns are actually just like a trauma. Yeah. So like a like a needle piercing is I guess they the needles have a hole in them. Yeah, it's hollow. So like, yeah, takes out that chunk. And it makes it easier for them to heal because it's like a tube. It's not a puncture. Instead of just a punch. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, honestly, my ears do not hurt like at all. And I could not have said that about either of the times I had my ears pierced as a child. So my nose is a little sore. But I also hit them a lot. I was going to say you also had your glasses sitting like right on there. Yeah, no, it's like I can feel when my glasses get too close to them, because I can feel my nose rings. The day after I got them done, I was like, I'm very aware there's new metal in my face. Yes. Yeah, I mentioned it'd be something to get used to. Now I don't notice them unless, you know, my glasses slide down my face. But yeah, but I mean, I'm not really doing anything crazy. I'm rereading the Dresden series. I have binged the crap out of that. I think I started them. Last month. Yeah. So I'm like, I'm on book seven. Oh, isn't that deadbeat? Yes, it's my favorite. I was gonna say it's my absolute favorite. Love Debbie. Good guy. It's so good. But yeah. So I'm listening to that right now. And Mickey seven just came available for me to check out and Libby. So I don't know, I guess I'll read that. That was like, oh, that's just that's in. Yeah, I think that's a reserve right now. Yeah, that was the book that he wanted to read for our book club. First that he suggested. Yeah, but it took too long. Yeah, we should read it eventually for the book club. I'm just saying like it took too long. So I wasn't able to read it. I think it's in there now. I think it's in you were Libby, Mama. Just saying unless you returned it. Our collective Libby, the collective Libby. I mean, that's how I should be in my opinion. It worked out that way better. I don't just like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, middle of a book, and she's like, return. I did that to Kelsey ones. I gave her my library card. I was like, oh my god, it's fine. And I opened it up and it was it by Stephen King. And I was like, oh, absolutely not. I did not do that. Who is doing this? Okay. So just just a thing for all of our listeners and people who are on the podcast, if you see a book that is on your Libby, and you didn't check it out, don't return it because it wasn't you. Okay. Even if you stole your book, I mean, your library card, let them read it. It's okay. I didn't want it to mess up what it showed me, but it was fine. But yeah, she called me and she goes, um, did you return that book? And I was like, oh my god, it was you. Well, the first time you, you don't think about it because you're just, you're not used to somebody else using it. Yep. No, I don't. The guy in Turkey, who occasionally uses my Netflix or whatever back in the day, I wouldn't have it. I don't care. I just wish he'd switched the language back, you know. Yeah, that's fair. That's fair. I guess I can, oh, I can start doing like a nail check. Yeah. Oh, god, maybe if I can find, there we go. That's my nails right now. Yay. This reminded me of something I saw a, uh, probably a, a real or a short or something like that. Anyway, the other day about how, um, women are probably going blind. They almost certainly are because apparently all you guys will like pick up stuff, you know, like, tap, I can't, you can't hear it over this probably because, uh, this course found it out. We like tap your fingernails against whatever the heck you've got in your hand in videos. Yeah. Like I've seen people do this a bunch. This clicked their nails against them. So I'd say it's like echolocation, you know. Oh my god, we just like the tippy tappy. Tippy tappy's are nice sometimes. People do it all the time. I didn't notice it until this person said it and then every time I was just like scrolling through stuff, you know, mindlessly, and I'll see somebody like holding something and the like tap, tap, tap, tap on it. I'm like, yeah, what the heck is that? Well, that really started because of the whole ASMR thing. Like, this, it was a whole craze for a while. I mean, it still is, but yeah, anytime you pick something out, it's just like an ASMR, like, people automatically do it, just to get that crowd in, I guess. I just do it because I'm like, yeah. That's a weird need my little tippy tappy's like I'm a little chihuahua running on tile floor. It's that kind of sound honestly. It really is. If you guys haven't seen this scroll through some stuff and look at this, you'll notice the start of the tippy tappy and everything. I don't know if they heard it, but I tapped my screen like on my phone for them. They probably didn't hear it. Tap it on the arm. Oh, well. No, don't do that. You're going to break your arm again. Don't do that. That's fair. It's wobbly. Oh, you can do it on your cat. It's a mic arm, not an actual. There we go. I was demonstrating with my controller. I don't have nails, though, so I don't think it picked it. I did on my cup. There you go. Yeah. Anyway. Yeah. So that's pretty much it. Nothing really new. I'm boring. Cool. Should we get into the into the book then? Yes. Who has the book to read the summary? I do. Okay. This is Terry Pratchett's mort. Death comes to everyone eventually on this world. And now he's come to mort. What's an offer the young man can't refuse? No, literally. Can't refuse him. It's being dead. Isn't exactly compulsory. Actually, it's a pretty good deal as that's the premise. More will have the free have free board and lodging. He'll get the use of the company horse. And he won't have to take time off for family funerals. But despite the obvious perks, young mort is about to discover that there is a serious downside to working for the Reaper Man. Because this perfect job can be a killer on one's love life. True. I don't know. That is such a weird description. I know. I mean, just as I'm reading, I'm thinking, this is this does not really go with what they did. They really could have done a better summary of that book, frankly. But I mean, it's not wrong. It's just not. No, it's just not right. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, no, the first part is actually wrong. Like the compulsory thing. Right. Yeah. So it's compulsory. Not compulsatory. I don't know where I said that. As soon as I said it, I'm like, that's wrong. She just kept going. Nobody would have known. Just that cat. Yeah, what are you doing? I'm saying it. I got to be. So this is the this is the fourth book of the Discworld series chronologically, apparently, but the first release order, I guess. And as we've said before, do not read the books in actual order. Like the Discworld book should not be read in order. It's just a dumb idea. Don't read them in series order, read them in sub series order. Right. Yeah. Exactly. You pick a sub series. Like in this case, it's, I guess, I mean, this is death. His first book, right? As death is, uh, he wasn't really a main character, but he was like, uh, that's important secondary character. I'd say. Yeah. So this is it's a good one to start with. If you want to go with the death series. And, uh, I forgot, actually, I was getting this one confused with Reaper man. Oh, that's my favorite. That's the second one. I really like Reaper man. That's the second one. I think it is to get right. Um, anyway, you have Reaper man. I think there's only two in the in the death series or death series thing. Is there four? There's four. I looked it up. Look at me. Oh, I'm like, what are they? Do you remember? No, I don't know that. I used to have all printed out and like really tiny paper that I cut out and I used to keep it the desk. Yeah. I do know that Reaper man is number two and that there are four in the series. Yeah. Reaper man, soul music and hog father counting hog father, thief of time, maybe probably thief of time. I wouldn't count hog father is a death one. But it's got death daughter in it. I don't know. I think the big ones are Reaper man, soul music and thief of time. And more and more obviously. Yeah. But yeah. I forgot this was I was getting this confused with Reaper man. Um, more is a fun character that's for I've already finished the book. Let's be honest here. Yeah, I did. I'm going to have to read it again. Maybe two days. Yeah. Well, I'm going to just stay that they're much better to listen to, then to read. There is so much more richness when you when you hear it. Yeah. I'm reading it. And he's got all kinds of little fit notes in this. Yeah. Literally. I mean, they'll be like little asterix and then you have to go down and the bottom of the page and find stuff. It's like in some of them are quite long. I mean, at one point, it's like the one of the guys goes to the cover. Yeah. The wizard guy. And then, and the asterix. It has a list of everything that was in that cover. Yeah. Yeah, which comes up later. Yeah, it comes up later. And like, when he's pulling out of his pockets. Yeah. Oh, see, that makes a little bit more sense in the actual book. Because they did say it. They just didn't actually say like, but it had like a little before I would read them off and keep read. Yeah, keep the story going. So that makes that makes more sense. I enjoy when they add the foot. I mean, me too. Like I like to see I miss. They need to be there. Yeah. And then it happened to stop what you're doing and going down. I don't know. It's better be. It just. Yeah. When you listen to it. Because they work it in. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I loved. I loved this book. I did listen to it. And I also must say, I really loved the voice of death. Yeah. It is good. I think you get to say the reader. The narrator gets better. What's his name again? Who? Which one? The disc world narrator. Is it the same narrator? I don't know. For almost all of them, I think it was a girl that narrated more. But like, there were two other men that did voices within the book as well. For me, Zach, you have a computer. Why don't you? I'm looking it up right now. I'm looking it up. I'm doing it more. So the cook. What was his name? Albert Albert. Okay. His voice not sound like a weird mix of snake and, um, Filch. Yes. That's all I could see. Yes. Can't comment on that. Me too. I was like, he talks like snake that sounds like filch it. And I don't know how I feel about this. Yeah. That was a really weird. And I couldn't quite place filch. But now that you've said it, that's exactly what it was. I was like, it's like snake, but not. Yeah. Snape and filch had a baby. Oh my. And it's Albert. There's apparently a new. Did you guys listen to the new version of the old version? I might have listened to the new version because like, did it talk? Did they say like, um, that they're in end of CD one. No, I don't start of CD two. Okay. So I listened to the old one. So it's a different. It's a different person. This is what I was on audible. Okay. That's the new one. Okay. That's with, um, I think Sean Clifford S.I.A.M. I'm not helping you. I'm looking. Yeah. S.C.N. I think it's Sean. I'm just throwing noises out. I don't know. I can't read half the word. Y'all put in front of me. Yeah. It's Sean. It's like, I think it's like Irish. I say I can't read. I can't pronounce half the word. Like people have the name S.I.A.B.O.N. Shabon. It's Shabon. But yeah. Oh, sorry. Shabon. Yeah. Shabon. But yeah, it's the point is it's spelled weird. Yeah. It's well. Sure. It's spelled Irish. One of the two. It went Sean. So Sean Clifford and the other one was Nigel Planner. Nigel. Nigel. Nigel Planner is the old one. Sean Clifford is the new one. Except they have Bill Nye in this one is two. It's in like the British actor, Bill Nye. Not the science guy. Not the science guy. I was like, I don't remember his voice. Yeah. I don't know who exactly he did a voice four in it, but probably somebody. I'm pretty sure that they saw me make the he didn't do that face in real time. Okay. Bill Nye does the footnotes and Peter who Sarah Fenowitz does the voice of death. That's right. So you got three people in the new one, but the new it's a Sean Clifford does the majority of it. Anyway, so yeah, I mean, anything, anything standing out is like a general vibes from this one as opposed to I guess the other discreet books or just like books in general. I think because I read Reaper Man first because I with Terry Pratchett, I've been all over the place with stuff. I liked Bill so much and Reaper Man that this one is not holding my interest as much as because I like that character so much better. Bill is death for those who don't know. I was not trying to give it away. Also spoilers. Yes. I don't think that those they never call him Bill in the first one. He's death. I know this way, you're not supposed to say it. I wouldn't call that a spoiler. That's not a spoiler because that was going to know who Bill is. When you say Reaper Man, we haven't mentioned any of the characters in more besides Mord and Albert. Well, maybe they would be to find out. Yeah, hopefully you guys have read this with us by now. I mean, I think all three of us have. I mean, I think that naming those characters is not a huge deal. No, I wouldn't count that as a spoiler. No. Well, okay, Bill is death because he had to have some kind of name. Yeah. Actually, that according to the Wikipedia page for Terry Pratchett, that is not why. Okay. That was my idea. That was my reasoning. I read that. Gateway, my spoiler off camera. Okay. Um, so yeah, I've only read that one. I've only ever read The We Free Men series by Terry Pratchett before this. I mean, I think that's the best one. It really is just amazing. I love Tiffany and The We Free Men. But I really, for me, this was just like kind of on par with that. Just the vibes. Yeah. I don't know. It's adventurous or that it does We Free Men. Yeah. I feel. It's more the vibe or like, uh, no, which is a broad probably the closest one, I think. Yeah. I don't know. For me, it was just like light and it wasn't like, I was invested in what was happening. But I wasn't sweating bullets about it. It was a nice, good, slow, not slow, whatever book. I didn't want to like leisurely. Yeah. Yeah. It, it, yes. I like it. But I don't love it. Like I love some of the other ones. Yeah. This is this a thing. A lot of out of a lot of his earliest books. Like I said, this one's four. Uh-huh. Um, I don't think it really picks up until. Hmm. Maybe the next one or the one after that. Weird sisters are sorcery. One of those two. I think is, uh, we're really starts getting good. I think eight guards guards is that's like, guard guards is top tier. Yeah. Like that's a very good book and a very good series. So the first three, four books, you know, I don't know, equal rights is when I was thinking of. That's a good book too. But yeah, no, I mean, all of his earlier books just aren't as good as some of the other ones because he just wasn't as experienced as a writer and he didn't really know the, the world quite is as well. But even so, I mean, reading Terry Pratchigan, it just, it always stands out to me how clever he is with all of the stuff he's saying. All the little puns, all of the little, like, um, just sort of absurdist commentary about stuff is always incredibly fun and it's what I really look forward to when reading his stuff. I mean, he kind of hints or maybe I'm just seeing more into it than there that about the almost the, the cave and analogy where you just see the shadows and the real is not, you don't see what's really you to see the shadows of it. But yeah, the allegory of the cave, I'm trying to think about if there was an actual explicit mention of it. I don't remember anything to do with that. Well, it's like where it's because there was times when more it was more solid or more real or more, yeah, yeah. And thinking was, which is the horse, we're not going to get into like who bingies. I love binky. Yeah. It was more real, more, more substantial than it was more horse than the other horses. Yeah. Right. Yeah. So more, yeah, they were more real. It's a very much more muchness and he was just, it's like a matrix. I mean, it's like, yeah, we live in, yeah, like they talk about us now living in a matrix. Yeah. Gotcha. That was really fun. And this was long before then. What was this written? It was released. I died. As much as he would write things and then stick it in the folder or whatever that we learned from his biography, I would not be surprised. That's why he's got so much stuff like connected later on in books and stuff like that. Yeah. You know, I feel like they do explicitly mention the allegory of its key at some point, but I don't think it was in this book. And they probably say it's like a was name because he always says was name. So it's like a filler because they don't say what it is exactly until like later. What is I thought about your arm? Yeah. I think we're mind. I was like this table and her sleans over that table in your dozen that made like, like, I was thinking about that. Mayo! What was happening? I lost my arm while Carla was talking and I had to do surgery. Of course. So I kept talking to like distract because I hadn't touched it in like forever. It was just like started moving into my face and I'm like, what's happening? You guys are going to figure it out. For the audio listeners, they have new mic arms to make my job as you guys are the editor, so like it's just better. And yeah, apparently, now he's having difficulties. Yeah, she's on the struggle bus. Of course I am. Anyway, back to the show. Back to the show. Back to the show. So that's our sort of non-spoilery discussion of it. I guess next time, hopefully everybody will have read the book completely. Listeners read the book. It's not that long. No. You got no excuses. If you need to get the book, email me. I'm not gonna get it. It's on YouTube. Okay, it's on YouTube. You can get the whole thing on there. If you really just can't find it. Are you serious? So the whole of the whole book. I wasted an audible credit when I kind of listen on YouTube. I'm just gonna link it to you guys in the chat. I have been I'm a punch that like reading this when I prefer to listen to Terry Pratchett. Oh, Zach, you're in trouble. Yeah. I just found out that it was in there more Terry Pratchett. I think most of us are on there. Was it? Was it just like five minutes ago or a week ago? You get better. This one's been out for a year. It's a new audible version. If you guys just search mort Terry Pratchett. Okay, but when did you find out that? I found out today. Yeah, very nice of you. Good answer. Yeah. I have I have a copy of all the books already. So I didn't need to like get them. You guys should have just told me. I'm pretty sure mama did. Well, I didn't hear it, but mort is on the thing. I bet you the other ones are other. Let me check Steve like Reapered. And the estate of Terry Pratchett, please don't take these down because they're great. Yeah, no, there's this YouTube channel called Sory Time. And it has at least a few of the books because I'm looking at the other one. The next one here, it's Reaper Man. That's a good one. So yeah, you can just listen to it online if you really want to. Well, how do you do? Okay, well, do we have anything else to add before I lose my arm again? I'm definitely going to check out YouTube. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that's good to know. A cool place. Oh, I have one thing. Okay. If you guys are listening and you have a subscribe subscribe is great. Do it. Click the button and then just listen to our stop. And if you are a new listener, there's a hundred and five or four other episodes, go back through and listen to them all. Yeah, go and do it on your whatever podcast thing you have and watch them on YouTube. Yeah. Well, sharing with everybody, you know, that's a bit excessive. Yeah. But I mean, you don't have to watch us. I'm just saying, go back and listen to the one where we talk about books we hate. Go listen. Those are always good. Books what you know, which episode that is? There's one like, like episode nine or something like that. It's real early. Oh, yeah. But that was probably the best one. I still think the best early episode was the Jasper to Whitman. Oh, yeah. The Jasper to Whitman, if you want to go back and let's do a really good interview, that was no. No, no, the book discusses interview, although that was a very good episode. That was excellent. Yeah. He's the one where we discuss the book because we hit up brought him to us. That's also a good point. Yeah. When we discuss the book. Yeah. Because apparently there's multiple versions of that. Yeah. That was so. That was a good one. Oh, speaking of which, for anyone who's interested, since we discussed his new book, didn't we on this? Yes. Okay. His new book is currently being edited right now. He had a beta reader read it and she was very hard on her criticisms. So he is going through and fixing those and hopefully soon it'll be out. I'm so excited. Yeah. Did he tell you about that D&D game he was going to run? No. I didn't ask about it. But he did send us AI photos of the main characters. Yeah. So. Oh my god. That's great. Maybe. I don't know. We'd have to ask. Yeah. But he did send us though. So hopefully he's cool with that and we can share them. That's exciting. Yeah. Very. That episode by the way, he emailed him and literally an hour later, he emailed back. Yeah. He was like, this is why it's not been published yet because I was like, Jasper, I was like, I don't goodreads and it's not kind of publication. Yeah. Get your sir to be tapy. But yeah, that's what's going on with that. So cannot wait for that to get put out for realsies. In case you couldn't tell, we love you Jasper to win. Jasper fan club right here. Absolutely. No. But that is a really cool update. It is a very cool update. Yes. Yeah. Okay. Well, if we don't have anything else, as we stated before, our next episode, we will be doing a deep dive into mort. And I think all of us are going to have to listen to it again so that we know what we're talking about. And I don't know what we're doing after that. Maybe we could have like for the people that have listened to it with us or read it with us. Maybe we could discuss with us. Yeah, or have a have a send in questions. Yeah, that would be good. Or you might be able to where we could like do like a raffle and choose somebody to actually get on the podcast with us to talk about a book. Yeah. But you'd be kind of fun. Yeah. Okay. So if you've listened on our next episode, make sure you comment or email us or something your thoughts about the book. Yeah. Even if it's just one of us personally on like our Facebooks or something like that, if you like, if your friends will never with us. Yeah. That's fun. And maybe even you can send in your thoughts to like the library's Facebook page. That works too. Yeah. Yeah. The library's Facebook page. So, you know, if you don't want your thoughts like out there for everybody to see, but you still want us to talk about them or whatever. Yeah. And if you don't want us to mention your name or anything like that, just tell us, hey, I'd like to remain anonymous. We'll name you though. Like, we'll give you names. Yeah. This one's Carl. Carl kills people. No. Okay. Sorry. Back to the end of this episode. We hope you enjoyed today's episode before we go. Remember only the best libraries have librarians who don't shush you, but we do lose our arms. And also probably because we're crying laughing about something.[Music][BLANK_AUDIO]
